Kerala Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has become the first airport in India that runs entirely on solar energy. The airport officially commissioned a 12 MW solar project. The plant comprises 46,150 solar panels on the airport cargo complex will allow Cochin be between 50,000 and 60,000 units of solar electricity every day for their operations.
